Il premio migliore ad Ariana Grande ma Justin e Drake ne vincono più di tutti.
Drake, Justin Bieber ed Ariana Grande sono quelli che hanno vinto più premi o i migliori – come nel caso di Ariana – agli American Music Awards 2016 o anche conosciuti come AMAs. La cerimonia si è svolta ieri sera (20 novembre 2016), a Los Angeles, presso il Microsoft Theatre.
I premi sono tutti votati dal pubblico – e questo spiega il perché vediamo alcuni nomi invece che altri – e Grande ha portato a casa il premio più importante della notte – l’Artist of the Year – battendo artisti del calibro di Rihanna, Adele e Justin Bieber.
“Spero che io possa portare gioia a voi e farvi sentire unificati e felici”, ha detto Ariana durante il suo discorso di accettazione.
Drake ha portato a casa quattro delle sue 13 nomination, vincendo il Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, Favourite Song – Soul/R&B per ‘Work’ e Favourite Album – Rap/Hiphop per Views.
“Per il nostro genere, mi piace mantenere le cose eccitanti e continuare a fare musica…”, ha detto Drake.
Justin Bieber si è portato a casa “come Drake” quattro premi, tra cui il Favourite Male Artist nella categoria the Pop/Rock, così come il video dell’anno per ‘Sorry‘.
A Rihanna è stato assegnato il premio Favourite Female Artist – R & B, così come il Favourite Album nella stessa categoria per Anti. Ha anche portato a casa il Favourite Song – R & B insieme a Drake per ‘Work’.
Adele non è rimasta a mani vuote ed ha portato a casa il Favourite Adult Contemporary Artist mentre Zayn Malik ha vinto il premio New Artist of the Year, ed ha gettato un po’ di ombra sugli One Direction nel suo discorso di accettazione. Ma senza gli One le sue canzoni non sarebbero mai state votate.
Il Tour of the Year è stato vinto da Beyoncé.
La collaborazione dell’anno è andata alle Fifth Harmony e Ty Dolla $ign per ‘Work From Home‘, mentre Selena Gomez è stata nominata Favourite Female Artist nella categoria Pop/Rock.
Selena ha fatto un emozionante discorso di accettazione, la sua prima apparizione pubblica da quando ha preso una pausa all’inizio di quest’anno per curare il Lupus.
