La cantante britannica-kosovara ha collaborato con The Open Mic Project di Absolut per lanciare una nuova canzone che promuova l’auto-accettazione. La traccia è intitolata “Proud” ed è stata trasmessa in anteprima alcuni momenti fa su YouTube!
I testi della canzone sono stati ispirati dalle numerose storie vere sull’accettazione personale presentate a The Open Mic Project da persone di tutto il mondo.

“È una cosa bellissima perché si tratta di usare la musica per incoraggiare più persone nel mondo ad accettarsi, indipendentemente dalle loro convinzioni o confini”,
ha detto Rita in una dichiarazione ufficiale.
“È stato davvero interessante connettermi con i miei fan e persino crearne di nuovi e collezionare centinaia di storie vere di auto-accettazione, è stato molto stimolante da leggere, ho letto il maggior numero possibile di testimonianze e mi ha aiutato tantissimo a scrivere ‘Proud’ in modo molto più significativo e realistico.
Accettarsi è una cosa che oggigiorno è più utile che mai, ne abbiamo davvero bisogno. Due o tre anni fa, non ero sicuro se sarei riuscita a lanciare la musica che volevo, di essere me stessa e libera… Ora, nel 2018, mi sento così. Ma nel 2016, non credevo fosse possibile!”.
