Bridgit Mendler parla della sua vita privata nel video di Atlantis?

In tutta onestà non prestato troppa attenzione al nuovo singolo Atlantis di Bridgit Mendler, ma questo video musicale che ha debuttato ieri ha dato un volto nuovo “positivo” anche al brano. Ecco una dimostrazione di come il video riesce ad arricchire un singolo.

Il nuovo EP di Bridgit “Nemesis” – non parliamo di Resident Evil – dove è incluso anche “Atlantis”, sarà pubblicato in digitale all’inizio di novembre.

Il titolo di “Atlantis” è una metafora di ciò che Bridgit Mendler sta cercando di dire in questa canzone indie-pop, dove scrive circa il rapporto che ha con questo ragazzo, affondato verso il basso, quindi profondo come la città perduta di Atlantide.

Per il video musicale si è affidata alla regia di Allie Avital, e Bridgit è voluta restare fedele al concetto della canzone.

Il video musicale (guardatelo qui sotto) mostra la bella Bridgit Mendler fare irruzione in casa di questo ragazzo, che è completamente svenuto sul letto, con le sue migliori amiche. Bridget vorrà farsi un selfie con il tizio, e poi lo trascinerà in salotto e preparerà una festa con le sue ragazze – in realtà non si preoccuperà dello stato di salute del ragazzo (lui è ancora lì svenuto) -.

Poi arriverà il mattino successivo, e tutti si sveglieranno, tranne il ragazzo, naturalmente, che è ancora svenuto. Bridget lo trascinerà di nuovo nel suo letto, e qui il video diventerà ancora più contorto. Bridget bacerà il ragazzo sulla guancia ed inizierà a ballare di fronte al corpo del ragazzo svenuto sul letto. Poi dopo qualche lacrima di Bridgit – che molto probabilmente sta pensando al rapporto col suo ragazzo vero – il tipo si sveglierà di scatto.

Se guardate bene il video, c’è vicino una bottiglia accanto al letto del ragazzo. In pratica è un alcolizzato ed è per questo motivo che Bridgit ha rotto con lui ed è per questo motivo che piange ripensando alla loro storia.
