Tate McRae è una cantante da tenere d’occhio. Ha pubblicato due singoli che sono diventati virali quest’anno e mi riferisco a “tear myself apart” e “all my friends are fake.” Non li avete mai sentiti? Rimediate pure perché queste due canzoni hanno ottenuto più di 10 milioni di stream in pochi mesi. E stiamo parlando di una cantante appena sedicenne.
Probabilmente farà ancora meglio con la canzone Stupid. Prodotta da Russell Chell, questa traccia documenta un grave caso di mal d’amore.
“Penso a lui solo nei giorni festivi e nei fine settimana, solo la mattina e la sera”, canta all’inizio Tate. “Solo quando mi sveglio e dormo.”
Se non altro, è completamente autocosciente della portata della sua ossessione.
“Oh mio Dio, sono una sciocca,” canta Tate nel ritornello. “Continuo a tornare da te, sono così stupida per te.”
Il testo sembra abbastanza carino, non trovate? Mi piacciono le sue canzoni perché raccontano in modo crudo e reale le condizioni sentimentali e personali dei giovani d’oggi.
