Il cantante canadese Shawn Mendes ha sformato una delle hit dell’anno con “Mercy“, brano che ha dominato le classifiche di vendita e che è stato remixato da parecchi artisti. Ora ha deciso di lanciare il nuovo singolo intitolato “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back“.

There’s Nothing Holding Me Back di Shawn Mendes non farà parte di un nuovo album o EP per quel che ne sappiamo ma sarà un semplice “ma bello” singolo buzz per la primavera/estate. Shawn ha deciso però di aggiungerlo alla versione Deluxe del suo album “Illuminate”, quindi su Spotify lo abbiamo trovato con la cover del disco. Io avrei creato un EP apposito, magari anche con solo 2 o 3 canzoni associate ai remix, sarebbe stato più utile dal punto di vista commerciale.

Comunque, la canzone There’s Nothing Holding Me Back di Shawn Mendes suona bene. Non è una ballata mid-tempo ma un singolo molto radio friendly della durata di 3 minuti e 19 secondi, che come Mercy si eleva molto bene nel ritornello. Non sono male queste sonorità un po’ pop/rock… vero? E poi c’è quel sound tropicale che tanto piace ultimamente e Shawn lo sa usare bene in questo brano.
