Ecco il video ufficiale di Good For You. È vero! La principessa Selena Gomez è pronta a uccidere l’estate con il suo atteso nuovo singolo chiamato “Good For You“.
Il video è un’esaltazione del bellissimo aspetto di Selena che in ogni scena appare più bella che mai, quasi a chiedersi se è veramente bella per qualcuno, se si ritiene all’altezza di quella persona.
Il brano viene eseguito con la collaborazione del rapper americano A$AP Rocky e si conferma come il primo assaggio del prossimo secondo album da solista di Selena, che uscirà entro la fine dell’anno con la Interscope Records.
Non è mai facile fare il salto da teen idol a pop star di successo. Per ogni Justin Timberlake o Miley Cyrus, ci sono una decina di artisti che abbiamo trasformato eccessivamente, ma non è il caso di Selena, perché lei è veramente grande. Se ci dovessimo basare su “Good For You”, Selena Gomez è una scommessa vinta senza ripensamenti. La 22 enne cantante ha creato questo bel primo singolo da quando ha lasciato la Disney Hollywood Records ed è riuscita a trasformarsi in questo nuovo brano, reinventando completamente il suo sound.
Co-firmata da Selena, Julia Michaels e Justin Tranter, “Good For You” è un sensuale mid-tempo, una dolce esecuzione pop che colpisce per l’equilibrio straordinario tra l’electro e l’R & B. “And syncopate my skin to your heart beating ’cause I just wanna look good for you.” dice la ragazza in un verso del brano.
Nel pezzo è presente anche il rapper A$AP Rocky che canta un verso di buon gusto (per i suoi standard) verso la fine della canzone. Si sente che è un po’ forzato, ma il coinvolgimento del rapper aprirà il brano fino a più formati radio. Tutto sommato, “Good For You” è un singolo rinfrescante ed originale che crea una corsia tutta nuova per Selena. Mi piace che lei sia riuscita a trovare un sound maturo e sexy senza perdere la sua filosofia. E’ stata una gradita sorpresa per me questo avvio con la Interscope. Brava Selena.
